Ritesh “Rex” Chatterjee is the founder and managing principal of Chatterjee Legal.

Rex’s practice encompasses a variety of areas pertaining to the needs of startups and growing businesses, including corporate, commercial contracts & transactions, trademarks & branding, labor & employment, regulatory compliance, internal investigations, data privacy & cybersecurity, crisis management & communications, and managed legal services (also known as “outside general counsel services”).

Prior to founding Chatterjee Legal, Rex served as the Global Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance for a multinational public company. Rex has also served as General Counsel and Head of Risk for a mid-sized US-based construction management firm, and as a corporate bankruptcy & restructuring attorney with a leading New York firm.

In addition to his legal experience, Rex has held several significant non-legal positions within large organizations, primarily in the financial services sector. Rex has served as the leader of a major risk governance initiative at a systemically important global bank, and as a financial services risk & regulatory consultant with a globally renowned audit & advisory firm.

Rex holds a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School.

Rex is admitted to practice in the State of New York, and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
